Getting a drip in Avcılar
Life in Avcılar runs between metrobüs stops and campuses: Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa has its Avcılar Campus here and Istanbul Gelişim University is close by, so side streets are full of shared student flats. Port and logistics workers on rotating shifts live towards Ambarlı, families in the quieter streets near the lake. Typical reasons to ask about a home drip here: flatmates with an upset stomach after the same bad dinner, or feeling wiped out after a night shift. The nurse drives in along the E-5, usually in 65–95 minutes; late afternoon it gets much slower. Drips from €149 per person, no €25 visit fee when you book with a flatmate, and €40 extra between 00:00 and 07:00. We do not give drips to anyone under 18.

Often yes. Each of you fills in your own health form and the doctor checks every one. There is no visit fee and the nurse sets up the drips side by side. With bloody diarrhoea, a very high fever or if you cannot keep any fluids down, a home drip is not enough: go to a hospital or call 112.
